Already, the 21st century has seen an unprecedented increase in cross-border movements of people, goods, information, and financial capital. Numerous incentives facilitators have expanded international interconnectedness mobility, so altering conventional nature functions state borders, as captured by “new mobilities” paradigm. Yet weaponization global economic interdependencies other trends towards deglobalization mean there is now a growing pressure on governments to re-establish attributes borders. Against current mobility security backdrop, this collection articles takes stock meaning, roles, practices border activities. Now moment consider special role that borders perform institution contemporary world exposed massive flows people well technologically-driven control management systems.
